Bio.
Lauren Whiteman, M.Ed., is from Dallas, Texas, and received both her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and her master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Oklahoma. After six years as an educator focusing on advocacy, student development, and the miseducation of Black and African American students in higher education, Lauren is now a UX content designer at a global telecommunications company. She also provides consulting services for writing and copywriting, higher education, content marketing, and DE&I programming for colleges, universities, community organizations, and small businesses. A TEDx presenter, she has collaborated on projects and work that received awards from the Oklahoma Human Rights Commission, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Oklahoma Bar Association. Lauren is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Rotary International. When time permits, she occasionally writes about Black culture for various media outlets.
